Tegan and Sara
If you haven’t had the chance to listen to the latest album release from Tegan and Sara, I would suggest you go do that now. Their eighth album, titled Love You to Death, is their most pop-like record to date and when I heard the lead single “Boyfriend”, I was addicted. By now you have probably heard the song on the radio as it is getting some great airplay on most stations. The Clea Duvall directed music video is everything I could have hoped for and more, including cameos from Mae Whitman, Sarah Ramos, and Rachel Antonoff. This song and video had me hooked for the rest of the album. Before the album was released, another track called “Stop Desire” was released online and instantly became another favourite of mine. Their whole album is pretty solid, but I’m still on the fence about if it is better than their album 2013 Heartthrob album.
Never heard of Astronomyy before? You’re not alone. I had only found this band’s music online a couple weeks ago. This was thanks to a dreamy and sultry cover of Ariana Grande’s “Into You”. I loved the Grande original, but now I am loving this cover just as much. This band has released a handful of other covers over on their Soundcloud page. Another notable song they have done is a cover of Terror Jr’s “Three Strikes” that I’m quite fond of. I like to put on the few Astronomyy songs I have in my library when I want to chill out and relax. It just matches the mood perfectly. Take a listen below!
Keep an eye (and an ear) out for more musical recommendations in the near future. Although I may recommend Tegan and Sara again in the future, I’m always buzzing around lovin’ on a new track. So I will be sure to post about certain songs, albums, or artists/bands more often now! And as always, if you have any musical recommendations, leave them for me in a comment below. Almost nothing warms my heart more than falling in love with a new song.
