This is a new type of post to the blog, one that will be quite sparse due to my lack of power to finish a product fully before buying cool and exciting new ones. This is my first “Empties” post! For those that don’t know what this is, it’s pretty self-explanatory, it’s a post about products I’ve recently finished and and will give a review on them now that I’m throwing them out and if I will repurchase them in the future. For this post, I’ve separated it into two categories: make-up removing wipes and other products. Let’s get into the products!
› Make-up wipes — Just as a disclaimer, I did not go through all of these wipes super recently. I’ve been saving the packages as I’ve finished them to be able to include in this post. For a while I was going through them using a different one every night. First up, we have the Josie Maran Bear Naked Wipes. These were very good quality wipes that did their job to remove everything off my face, and they smelled nice! With proceeds going to save polar bears, why not buy these? I’ve only bought these once but I’d definitely consider them again for re-purchase as they weren’t the most expensive of the ones I’ve bought before. Next, the Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes. These were purchased as a cheaper option than my usual more pricey wipes I buy, just to test quality and compare. These were in fact good wipes, but I’d tear them once in a while, which has never happened before. I’ve heard there are other cheaper brands with better ingredients, so I will hold off on repurchasing these and give the others a try. Then was have the Korres Milk Proteins Cleansing Wipes, which wasn’t too much of a change for me because I definitely love the pomegranate version of these wipes. The milk proteins cleansing wipes were very moisturizing while re and I felt became a saviour in the wintertime, so I’m glad I tried these out at the right time of year. I still am tempted to return to the pomegranate version because I liked them even more, which is why they remain my favourite, I just wish they weren’t as expensive as they are. Lastly, my second favourite brand for wipes is the Soap & Glory Off Your Face 3-in-1 Daily Purifying Cloths. These I have repurchased and I think this was my second package of them. They claim to be a 3-in-1 product that cleanse, tone and smooth your skin (aka make your pores less visible). The smell of these cloths is very subtle but refreshing as well, and it’s really made me want to try more products from the whole line. I will continue to add this into my routine from time to time, and not exactly the most expensive of the bunch either.
› Other Products — For the rest of the products, we start off with Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mascara. This mascara has a super high popularity to make your lashes look like amazing fake lashes. I did find this mascara to be really good quality, but it wasn’t waterproof (and I’m not positive there is a waterproof version), so I may not repurchase for that reason. In one of my recent Ipsy Glam Bags I received the Nourish Organic Lightweight Moisturizing Face Lotion. I moved this into my daily skin care routine to see how good it was. It contained argan and rosewater so it was pretty good quality and smelled like springtime! I’ve never seen the brand in stores, so I may not repurchase because I try not to order products online often. Something I will repurchase the next time I find them is the Josie Maran Bear Naked Nail Wipes. This brings a lot more ease to removing nail polish while having a cuticle treatment at the same time. The version I bought was peppermint scented, which was a definite plus, but I hope I can find that scent again and it wasn’t just a winter release. If not, I’ll buy whatever other scent they have. It beats the smell of makeup remover any day! I recieved a sample sized version of the Make Up For Ever HD Microperfecting Primer as a points rewards from Sephora, and although the sample bottle didn’t always like to let me get the product out, it was very good when I used it. I came to the point where nothing would come out, even though I could still see it through the container, so that sucked a bit knowing I wasn’t getting all of the product out. I’m testing out other primers, so I’ll keep this one in mind if the others all fail. I’ve mentioned the Kosmea Replenishing Moisture Cream before and if you want to see my thoughts on it, you can read those here. I finally drained the bottle and still waiting to find a good deal of this fantastic product for repurchase. Lastly, deodorant, because no one wants to smell. I originally bought the Secret Clinical Strength Stress Response because it had a has a Serene Citrus Scent, and I’m always up for trying a new product. I didn’t know why Oprah’s name on was on it, and haven’t bothered to research that even to today, but I was disappointed at first because it wasn’t quite a dry product and went on wet, but after getting past that initial disappointment, I tried others that weren’t as good. I just repurchased this product a few days ago and am glad to have it back in my life.
