I know it’s been a little over a week since my last post, but I’m back now with an outfit of the day on this lovely Easter long weekend. I’ve definitely taken advantage of this weekend to sleep in and enjoy doing things I can’t do on normal weekdays, but I made sure to get in at least one blog post before the weekend ended and reality kicked back in. On to the outfit!
I was walking through Forever21 over a week ago and wasn’t really planning on buying anything, just browsing for inspiration. I walked past a display of overly colourful lightweight sweaters and kimonos and one of them caught my eye. I’m not a person that usually goes for bright and colourful clothing pieces, but this Watercolor Floral Kimono was different from all the rest. This bright blue, red-pink, and black floral kimono quickly found it’s way into my hands and I purchased it with no regrets. Trying it on at home I thought I looked ridiculous and didn’t want to leave the house wearing it, but I couldn’t make myself take it off. It soon became my go to piece to spice up an outfit that would otherwise be very dull.
I haven’t quite stepped up to try wearing this professionally at work yet, although I’ve been tempted almost every day, so I’ve left it to wear on other occasions. A perfect comforting weekend outfit was quickly put together with this kimono today, over top of a black lace racerback tank top I bought a couple years ago from Garage and my favourite everyday BDG Cigarette Mid-Rise Jeans from Urban Outfitters. On my feet I’m wearing a pair of bright indigo blue heels I bought on sale a couple years ago. These heels are nearly impossibly for me to walk in, but I have them around to complete an outfit for a short period of time if needed. I’ve warned you before about warm weather and this hat, but I put on my Pelham Hat again for this outfit because I always wear it in warmer weather. That completes this outfit!
