I’ll admit right off the bat that this is not the outfit of today, but of last Sunday while I was out for most of the day. I’m currently enjoying a full day of eating chocolate and dessert and catching up relaxation, so I am throwing this post back to a week ago when I wore this outfit.
This outfit is focused on one particular item of clothing and that is the black and white chevron patterned Essential Zig Zag Shift Dress from Sosie. I had never purchased anything from this online store before, but when I come across this website I was able to find enough things to justify making the order, including that this dress was 50% when I purchased it. They have many similar styled dresses as well as the chevron pattern is definitely in style this season! When I got the package in the mail I tried on the dress immediately and wasn’t exactly super happy with how it fit. It was pretty much a fashionable hospital gown at first glance. I knew a simple belt could fix my outfit problem, and grabbed a thin decorative belt from my closest (side note: I almost never wear belts) and wrapped it around snug instead of wearing it normally.
It was still a breezy day out, so I wore a pair of tights and my fuax leather jacket, and threw on my cowboy boots as were the only thing I could find that worked as I ran out the door. Although breezy, it was a beautifully sunny day so the Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses were an essential accessory that day. All the black pieces brought down the contrast of the chevron pattern a bit, which is why I’m naming this the “Shaded Chevron” outfit.
