I’ve been thinking about doing this post for a while now, and I finally felt ready enough to select a round up of my favourite lipsticks! There is a good range of colours in this post as I’ve tried to give my favourites of different shades of reds and pinks. These are colours that I think suit me very well, and I have no ventured too far away from these. I’m sure this collection will change over time, but for now this will be my favourite bunch of lipsticks.
› 1. M·A·C Lipstick in Candy Yum-Yum · I really love this lighter hot pink lipstick a lot, but because it is a matte lipstick, the wear starts to show after a while. I would wear this for shorter time spans when I know I can make it last long enough without starting to crack or look too rough on my lips. When I do wear this, I tend to load up on the lip balm or lip primer underneath to make it last as long as I can. It was not my normal colour of lip product when I bought it, but I’m glad I picked it up when I did because I really like the pop of bright pink every now and then.
› 2. Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss in Yummy Plum · I know this isn’t a lipstick, but I have had this lip gloss around for almost two years now and it has stayed as one of my favourites as a lip plumper and gloss, and that’s coming from someone who really isn’t a big fan of lip gloss products in general. It is a great product to add a little bit extra red on top of whatever lipstick I’m wearing that day. I wouldn’t find myself applying this on my lips by itself, but I’d definitely recommend as a gloss and plumper! The smell is very pleasant as well.
› 3. Tarte Glamazon Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick in Playful · This purple rose shade of lipstick is a long-wear, clay-infused lipstick. It sounds quite odd, but it goes on very smooth! I purchased this product in the midst of my “I must own all the berry shade lip products” phase, so I had a lot of lip products that were very similar in colour, but this one stood out as one of the best for it’s ability to last a bit longer than the others. I had a lighter pink of the product as well, but found it too similar to my natural lip colour to keep in my regular product rotation.
› 4. Lancôme Rouge In Love in Midnight Crush · Searching for a red lipstick lead me to randomly buying this product one day. It’s not quite a classic red, as it’s still very much on the pink side of the spectrum. It’s not as deep as my berry shades, but still comes through as a nice and strong pink-red lipstick that I reach for once in a while. The packaging alone is so beautiful that I love it for that reason too.
› 5. Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge in Raspberry · The holy grail of long-lasting lip products is in the confides of this product! This lipstick-stain-gloss product is very pigmented and long-lasting. The clear gloss that you put on top of the colour really locks in the colour for many hours. I’ve gone through sit down meals and did not have to do any touch ups after. It’s not 100% for it staying on 100% of the time, because eventually it will start to wear in some places, but not until you really try to mess it up. If I know I need something to last me through a long event or day, I reach for this product for sure. This was the product that launched my love of berry coloured lipsticks.
› 6. Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Tulip · This product feels like a lip balm when you apply it because the formula is that smooth! I bought a shade that wasn’t the brightest or most vivid from the collection, but a nice mauve-rose shade to keep it simpler on days that I wanted to add a little something extra to my lips. I find that if the lip product isn’t too different from your natural lip colour, people don’t really notice when it starts to wear off, so this one comes in handy for that reason!
› 7. Marc Jacobs Lovemarc Lip Gel in Showstopper · This classic red colour comes in the unique formula of a lip gel. It seems close enough to a lipstick that I forget once in a while, but it is a bit smoother than usual lipsticks. This was one of the red lipsticks I purchased when I was on the hunt for my perfect red shade, and this one is the non-pink red that I purchased. This one is very red, and quite deep of a colour, but not too dark.
› 8. Lip Bar Lipstick in Whiskey Sour · Speaking of non-pink red lipsticks, this online purchase was a recent one and when I opened the package I wasn’t sure if I regretted it or not because I have never owned or tried any burnt orange/red shades before and this definitely fell under that category. I waited until a day when I would reach for it and that day came, and it miraculously worked for me! I was quite surprised and have reached for it a couple more times since. I tend to lightly apply the Sexy Mother Pucker, mentioned above, over top on my lips as well so bring out a bit more of the redness. I do not regret this purchase at all now – and I really love the packaging for this one!
› 9. Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense in Satin Fuchsia · In my search for the perfect hot pink lipstick I purchased this with a matching lip liner and attempted to pull off the hot pink lips for spring and summer. This was quite long wearing and I was very impressed with this product. Very bright, very pink.
