July Beauty Haul

Sometimes the mall just gets you on a couple specific days and you seem to find everything you think you need. I’ve had a few of these days recently since the start of the month, mostly at Sephora, and have decided to pull everything together for a haul post for you. There is quite the bunch for this haul, so don’t be surprised if you see another haul post very shortly which may be a few more items that didn’t make it into this post.

› LAVANILA The Healthy Deodorant in Vanilla Summer — Starting this haul right off the bat with a deodorant. Summer = hot outside = deodorant is a must. I thought I’d give a new one a try and am very pleased so far with this light and summery scented one from LAVANILA. I think almost everything they do has some sort of vanilla in the scent and I am all for that!

› Dior Crème de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm — This is probably the most I will ever spend on a lip balm. I’ve seen a lot of hype over time about this product and gave in an made the purchase. It smooths, it slightly plums, and it has SPF 10 in it. I’m still in the testing stages to compare it with my cheaper options.

› Batiste XXL Volume Dry Shampoo — Once you find a dry shampoo product range that you love, you feel the need to try all of the products in the collection. This was the case when I spotted a new (at least to me) product from the Batiste dry shampoo range, and if this one promotes volume, I didn’t hesitate in grabbing it. It definitely adds something to your hair, a lot of texture for sure. I’ve only sprayed it a couple times but I think I still prefer the tropical one, just because it smells lovely and does the basic duty of making my hair look less greasy.

› Hawaiian Tropic Shimmer Effect™ Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 — A summer staple of mine is definitely sunscreen. Although I have not really achieved any sort of tan or burn yet this year, I keep this close by on days when I know I’m going to be in the sun for a longer period of time. I’m not crazy about glittery things, but the shimmer effect of this sunscreen reflects in the sun to make me think I’m a shimmery skinned vampire from Twilight. Something about that is pleasing, a little worrisome… but mostly pleasing. This is a lower SPF than I usually use, but so far it’s doing its job this summer.

› Nails Inc. Gel Effect Polish in Lexington Gardens — Anything nail polish that promises a gel effect. I saw someone wearing the lighter blue-purple shade in Sephora and kept it on my mind, but when I went to purchase it, they were sold out of that colour. Instead I picked up the lighter purple colour and have been happy with it so far. I’ve had it on my nails for nearly a whole 24 hours and although there has been some minor chipping with my activities since I applied it, I’m still impressed with it otherwise. I skipped the base coat, so maybe using that before the colour nail polish would have better results next time.

› Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara — This was a sephora perk with a recent online purchase. I was interested to see why this had such big hyper around it and so far I’ve noticed it to be actually really good quality with no clumps! I’ll definitely use up with mini sized tube and consider getting the full size product in the future.

› Kat Von D Ink Liner — I’m not new to Kat Von D eye liner products as I used to use the Tattoo liner before I discovered the Stila waterproof liquid eye liners. I have noticed that my stila liner bends a bit at the tip and it isn’t the greatest thing to happen to a liquid eye liner, so I thought I would see if it happens with this newer eye liner. Very precise lines can be made with it’s fine tip and lasting power that people dream of! I’m very glad I picked up this one to try.

› Lacôme CILS Booster XL — This was another Sephora perk that I cashed in some points for. I’ve never used a mascara primer before, and haven’t tested this one out enough to develop an opinion, but I’m excited to see what dramatic eye looks I can come up with!

› Anastasia Brow Wiz in Taupe/Ash Blonde — I’m not an experienced user of brow products, but only recently I thought I’d see what I could do with one of the mot talked about products in the brow game. I do notice a little difference so far in having fuller looking brows, but it isn’t one of my main focus points because I have always had pretty full looking brows naturally. I’ll be glad to have this around whenever they decide to act a bit crazy somedays though.
