Sample Sizes 01

What feels like a great thing when you get it is samples of products from stores, especially Sephora, and you get to go home and try out a bunch of new products in their sample size versions. More time than not, all my samples find a way into a box of products and samples that I don’t use and re-discover after they have probably expired. This is going to be my new way of trying to get through these samples so that I have use them up and throw them out and see if there are any products that I should consider investing in the full size versions. Let me start this off with a few products I’ve finally brought out of the box to give a try.

Starting this blog post off with the duo sample of the Drybar Texas Tea Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner for one reason: I need these in my life. I think this was a very recent sample addition to the box from the VIB Rouge event if I’m not mistaken, but in the search through the box the other day I saw it and decided I would bring it out and give it a try. Taking a break from my normal tone correcting shampoo and conditioner duo I ripped open these samples and was instantly falling in love with the scent. These products smell like you just walked out of a desert or forest in Texas and have all the smells of nature, but only the good parts! The small is very musky and masculine, but that is something that I can’t resist sometimes when it comes to picking a scent. My hair did feel more like it had a good amount of volume to it in the morning but I was a little sad that the scent did not linger as much as other products have in the past. Maybe the matching spray in the collection would help add a bit more of that lovely scent back to my hair, so I will have the shampoo, conditioner, and spray on my list for future purchases! They are a bit costly, but I think just a little bit lower than my normal Bumble and Bumble purchases.

I decided to double up the samples in the shower and ripped open a sample of the Kiehl’s Blue Herbal Gel Cleanser. Thankfully I have two of these because I also quickly fell in love with how this felt on my skin. Although the downside of this product was that it was an extremely runny liquid consistency, but I’m not sure if that was just unique to the sample size or how long I may have had it for. The product itself was so cooling to the skin and this minty-like cleanser left a really awesome tingly feeling afterwards and I don’t think I have ever had a cleanser give that before. This product did not dry out my face, which is a plus, but really cleaned out my pores and left my skin feeling really smooth and looking refreshed. The brand itself is known for how great its products are so I will definitely be adding this one to a list of items to purchase after I finish up all my other cleansers.

The last sample in this post is not a new thing by any means, but something I’ve only ever tried in single sample versions over the years and I really should just go buy a box eventually. This product I’m talking about is the Bioré Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips. I know there are basic ones, but I somehow ended up with the “ultra deep cleansing” sample version this time, just to make sure it really cleanses my nose. These nose cleansing strips are a great way to treat yourself and your nose to clear away blackheads and just really bring it back to stage one awesome feeling nose. I just peeled one off in the middle of writing this paragraph and that’s the least fun part about nose strips, is the pain you go through while peeling it away from your skin and trying not to let your eyes water. The more stuck to your face it was during the 10-15 minute process, the harder the removal gets, but it’s all worth it in the end.
