Over the past two weeks I’ve collected a handful of beauty-related products and I have now decided that I am going to combine them together in a random selection haul post. These products came from Sephora, The Body Shop, and the drugstore, so there is a really nice range of price points in these items to if you are thinking of investing in any of these items. Let’s see what I’ve collected lately…
I know at the Sephora VIB Rouge event I bought a new serum, but I originally had my eye on a different serum that was not available at the Sephora closest to me. I used to discount that came after the event to make an online purchase and now own the First Aid Beauty Anti-Redness Serum. In my opinion a serum should me a nice cream or gel like consistency, not oil, and this product definitely comes out as a cream. A full pump of product is definitely too much, so I usually do half a pump and it covers my face and neck perfectly. Despite my dislike of the scent of the facial cleanser that I had from this brand a while back, the smell of this serum is actually pleasant and I am just really happy with this purchase. I’m using this serum as my daytime serum and have moved the oil-like one to my night time skin care routine.
A product I have heard bits and pieces about on the internet is The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream. I know I’ve pretty much ranked my Dr. Jart BB cream as my holy grail item for a natural looking light foundation, but I thought I would give this one a shot because it is definitely different. The product comes out as a white slightly liquidy creamy consistency and transforms into a shade to match your skin tone upon application. The Dr. Jart product does have a specific colour to it already, and if I feel like my face is becoming quite pale(r than usual) I would like to have this product for those occasions. This non-clogging BB cream comes in a few different shades for light, medium, and dark skin options, so I clearly picked up the lightest option of the three. It says it provides light to medium coverage, but in my opinion it is on the lighter side of the coverage spectrum. This product does provide a bit of extra hydration for the skin as well, so that’s always a plus especially approaching the winter weather. I have been mixing this with my other BB cream to create a combination of BB magic and slightly more coverage and have been happy with it so far.
This item is not exactly a recent purchase, but I have dug through my lipstick box of products I don’t use and threw out a bunch, but found the Sephora Rouge Shine Lipstick in No. 10 Miss You. This slightly glossy semi-sheer spiced taupe lipstick was a shocking instant love once I tried it on for old time sake. I’m pretty sure I never actually wore this whenever I purchased it because I never really liked the nude lipstick look until very recently. This is definitely one of the “your lips but better” shades of lipstick and provides a really nice finish. I wouldn’t say it’s glossy, but it’s not matte either. When I apply this alone I always forget that I’m wearing it, but if paired with a very neutral nude lip liner it adds a little bit more definition and makes me feel naturally classy. There is not real need for re-applying this one if it fades nicely throughout the day. I’ve thrown this lipstick in my purse to use whenever I feel like it.
Speaking of lip liners, the last item of this post is going to be just that! I was in Shoppers Drug Mart recently and have been hearing a lot of buzz about a lip liner that is the perfect dupe for a very pricey one. I picked up the Rimmel London Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in Eastend Snob. I was unfortunately a little disappointed with this product when I first went to use it because the end of the product broke and I’ve already lost a good chuck of it. I work with it very lightly now in hopes it doesn’t break again and have been happy with it ever since. This very nude pink shade is the perfect match for my lips that aid me in creating the perfect lipstick look with the previous mentioned lipstick and a couple other recent lip products that I have purchased in the past while.
