The lovely people are ObsessedCanada.com have reached out to me to let me try some of the Montagne Jeunesse face masks (or masques as they call them) that they have available on their website. This great change lead me to later purchasing products from the website that I haven’t been able to get my hands on until now. I’ve seen either these masks in drugstores or a brand very similar to them, but I have never actually tried one out for myself. I only got into face mask products over the past year or so, mostly sticking to one or two that I tried and liked, but let me just tell you right away that after trying the first of these three I think these may be my new favourite! You can see the full selection of Montagne Jeunesse masks here on ObsessedCanada.com.
If you’ve seen these Montagne Jeunesse face masks before, then you know that they are not that expensive at all, coming in at just $1.99 per package. Even with the loss of our pennies, this two dollar mask is well worth it. The first mask I tried was the Fruit Smoothie Pore Cleansing Masque mask. This particular mask had a great fruity scent of raspberry and mango as I applied it all over my face. Letting this mask do it’s thing as I gave myself a whiter than usual appearance for about 15 minutes before washing it off. The hardening effect that some masks have, such as this one, always seems so fascinating as I smile and crack it all over my face. It’s amusing and terrifying at the same time. After applying water and cleaning the mask off my face I was left with some of the softest skin I’ve ever felt on my face in years. I know I have blogged before about a product website making my skin feel as smooth as a baby’s bottom, but this one definitely takes the cake for instantly smooth skin. I seriously ran around my house making people feel how soft my face was, that’s how happy I was about it. I am serious when I say I am not being forced to write all this praise, it is really coming straight from my own opinion about this product. There is no accompanying photo of the mask on my face because I looked in the mirror and even scared myself. I can show you the no makeup face, but not this mask face.
Next up, I switched it up with the Green Tea Peel-Off Detox & Pore Cleansing Masque. This one is different from the first because it is a peel-off mask and not just something you wash off. This one works to re-engergize you skin with ingredients such as green tea, healing root ginger, and the reviving properties of a squeezed lemon. The results go on to reveal a deep cleansed, toned & radiant complexion and that sounded like something I needed. This mask starts off in a clear yellow liquid/gel like consistency that you speak across your face and let it form into a mask over the next 15-20 minutes. I was able to feel it slightly doing its job throughout the waiting period and sprung to go look in the mirror when the time was up. It looked like I was wearing a piece of plastic wrap across my face because of the shine that mask had created, but fear not, it does not make your face shiny. I did not use the full package, but enough to cover my whole face and a bit over again, but it created a very thin sheet that resembles peeling off flaking skin from a sunburn. Some people find joy in this, and I’m one of those people, until it gets to the point where you aren’t sure if you missed a piece or it gets tricky to remove. I jumped into the shower after doing this anyways and made sure it was all removed. I’m not sure if I liked this as much as the first mask, just because I found it easier to just wash product off rather than taking the time to peel it, but I think everyone should experience this type of product at least once in their life! The results gave my skin a super soft and smooth feel and that makes me happy.
Lastly, I saved the most excitingly coloured product for last. The Very Berry Ultra Moisturizing And Cleansing Masque was not only the best coloured mask but it ended up being my favourite of the three. First of all, the colour of it is pinkish purple shade that is so different from all the other more green or pale coloured masks I’ve been trying over the past year or so. Secondly, the smell is the perfectly rich berry scent that I’ve never smelt before in a beauty product. It’s heavenly. The mask goes on silky smooth and has been the easiest mask I have ever used to apply. I ran around my house telling people I was trying to match my squinting and luckily my mother did not take a photo with the iPad in her hands while she had the chance. This is another 10-15 minute mask that you leave on and then wash off to reveal super soft, smooth, and deeply moisturized skin. My skin just looked overall a lot healthier after washing off this mask. This one did not harden as much as the first mask did, but it did dry up a bit and you could definitely feel it working its magic throughout the waiting period before having to wash it off. I have a feeling that I’m going to be getting more of this mask just because how much I enjoyed it! All the mass were great for their own specific skin results, but this one was my favourite is is probably what is mostly needed for the moisturizing factor throughout the winter season.
I received these products complimentary from ObsessedCanada.com for testing and review purposes.
