Five Favourites: Richelle

5favourites-richelle2

The Five Favourites guest blog feature is back! Starting off the first guest post of the year with the five products that the ever so lovely Richelle Hunter claims to be the top five items she loves. Richelle is someone that I’ve been following on social media for quite a while now and swoon and sigh at almost every photo she posts. It doesn’t help that she is a fantastic wedding photographer and recently married the man of her dreams. Not only does she take amazing photos, she also posts some of the most sweet and romantic photos I’ve ever seen! She is currently living the life in Paris for half a year, something a lot of people wish they could do. She was kind enough to take time out of her Parisian lifestyle to write this guest blog feature for the blog and I am forever grateful. I hope one day we actually meet in person because she is 1) absolutely gorgeous and 2) seems like one of the sweetest people I’ve ever had correspondence with over social media and email. Klorane Dry Shampoo
Bless the makers of Dry Shampoo. This isn’t the only one that I use, but I do like the Oat Milk essential extract they’ve added because it softens hair. I only wash my hair about 2 times a week, as I have very thick, big hair. So I find it much easier to manage when it’s a little less silky. This gets me through the week to add bounce, texture and push through that extra day if I’m on the go. Sometimes I even like using it right after a wash and blow drying to give texture.

Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in Retsina
I love my makeup really natural looking… so this is my go-to lipstick. I found this when hunting for an “every day” shade… I adore Retsina – it’s a really soft, nude/blush creme.

Revlon New Complexion One Step Makeup
My secret weapon. I like finding affordable options and I love good quality – this is why I call it my secret weapon. I wanted a quick, one stop shop foundation base that wouldn’t require a lot of time to apply like using a liquid and brush… but of course, who doesn’t love to have a “finished” look. Sephora sells awesome compact makeup for $40+… but for everyday wear, I was hoping for something cheaper. Found it! Introduce Revlon’s New Complexion Compact Makeup… (I wear Tender Peach). I get the same effect, quality, and a larger amount for about a third of the cost.

MAC’s Mineralize SkinFinish in Soft & Gentle

Love this wizard concoction. Skinfinish is a muted highlighter – I just brush a little bit on my cheekbones and nose. It was recommended to me by one of my dear friends who’s sister is a makeup artist – they swear by it. She described it as the Hollywood Glow you see actresses donning on the red carpet. It’s that extra “oomph” when you’re getting fancy or simply want to add a healthy looking glow to a natural look. Nicole’s Edit: Consider this product officially added to my “need to buy” list!

Batty’s Bath Natural Tea Tree Facial Nut Scrub
More than anything, I love finding natural options. I’m still on the hunt to find incredible makeup options – but in the meantime, I can swear by this scrub. With a Tea Tree extract, you feel rejuvenated and fresh after exfoliating – I use this every few days. My husband loves it too! Uses it more than I do!
