This past year I tried to introduce some healthier meal options into my day and have tried to purchase healthier ingredients for certain meals that I make. My biggest upgrade was the introduction of the smoothie bowl into my fairly regular eating routine. I’ve become obsessed with eating smoothie bowls and even though they may not be as filling as a massive steak, I’m content with the portion size and can nibble on snacks later if needed. To continue this health kick I’ve recently received the chance to try the Kiss Me Organics Matcha Green Tea Powder. I don’t know if I’ve ever even tried a green tea latte, but at least now I’ve tried a few green teas here and there. I’ve received my package of the matcha powder to start incorporating into my meals and I’m going to go ahead and incorporate into my favourite meal, the açaí smoothie bowl.
Matcha in a Smoothie Bowl
Adding it to my smoothie bowl was simple. I measured out about half a teaspoon into my new Nutri Ninja. Blending it with my açaí smoothie pack, lactose-free milk, half a banana, frozen berries, and a couple extra healthy ingredients. I don’t think it changed the taste too much, which is a good thing. There might be a slight very light almost citrus taste to the overall meal. Usually, I forget I even added the matcha powder into the smoothie. I just obtain all the benefits of it while enjoying my food.
Speaking of benefits, I knew that matcha powder was good for you, but not to the exact details of how good it is to you. USDA organic matcha green tea can only be used in a powdered form. This powder contains the entire tea leaf, dramatically increasing the nutritional content. It has up to 137 times the antioxidants of regular brewed green tea. Matcha lifts your vitality and concentration with the slow release natural energy from organic matcha. It also supports your weight loss goals with an all-natural way to increase your body’s metabolism. So all around fantastic benefits from this package of matcha green tea powder. I’m excited that I now have this ingredient to add to my smoothie bowls and much more.
I haven’t exactly mastered the art of the green tea latte beverage yet. With the help of my recently acquired hand-held milk frother, I may be able to move that learning process along. Hopefully, incorporating the matcha powder into more food and drink items!
