Back in the autumn time I did my first blog post for this “Wonderful World of Tea” series in which I discuss my top four favourite teas. Some teas are best in certain seasons, so I thought I would leave this series to more of a seasonal posting for that reason. I’m here to talk about my four favourites of the winter season. So bundle up, grab your favourite cup of hot tea, and let’s read on…
At this point a lot of you will know that I have become obsessed with David’s Tea (which can be an understatement at times), so of course two of the teas in this round up will be from my favourite brand of teas! The first tea I have to mention is their flavour Glitter and Gold. It is claimed to be my favourite ever since I knew that their Pumpkin Chai was once around for a limited time and I knew I needed to find something I liked a lot to replace it until next autumn when they would likely be bringing it back out again. This vanilla and orange peel flavoured black tea is one of the most elegant teas I’ve ever seen in loose leaf form because of the small gold sugar balls that make it look like quite the classy tea. It is a very warming tea flavour that is perfect for the colder months that we are experiencing here in Canada. This tea is definitely my go to if I can’t decide what to drink. The one tea I don’t actually own in this blog post is their Cinnaberry. This tea is a very recent discovery to me as I gazed at the wall of teas in a shop recently and ended up picking this one because the name consisted of two things I like: cinnamon and berries. The two main ingredients are blueberries and cinnamon, so that made it even better. This is a herbal tea, which I’ve started introducing into my tea drinking habits for when I don’t need to rely on the caffeinated teas as much. The flavour is that perfect balance between sweet and a bit of spice that I enjoy ever so much and that one cup had me hooked. I will be buying a can of this loose leaf tea next time I’m near one of their shops, which will likely be in the very near future.
I’ve really become more interested in the Pukka brand of teas and will definitely be looking into more of their flavours in the future, but for now I have two of their teas to discuss! Since we are in the coldest of seasons, we really need teas that represent warmth, which is perfect for the Love Tea. This is a caffeine free organic tea that tastes of rose, chamomile, elderflower, and lavender – not exactly the tea you want to drink if you’re needing a usual burst of energy, but it just make you happy and calm with the perfect mixture of stress relieving ingredients. I am currently drinking this tea as I type this blog post out and will be heading to bed very soon after. The other tea from this brand that I’ve been drinking lately is the Cleanse Tea. This flavour is interesting as it is a mixture of an ingredient I don’t enjoy, fennel, with one that I really like, peppermint. Other ingredients such as organic nettle and aloe vera are included in this tea as it all works together to do what the box originally said on it: purify your skin. If you’ve read through certain blog posts before, then you will know that I battle with eczema and if this tea could be any help and keeping that from getting bad than I am definitely willing to give it a try. These teas really seem to try to promote good health and a clear mind, so that is a message I will continue to explore with this brand.
