Haul: Last Purchases of February

Okay, so I think by now we can see that I used February in its entirety as the “treat yo self” month, as I am finishing it up with a final Sephora haul. This order was made only because there was a product I have been looking for throughout the month and realized the only way I was going to obtain it is if I ordered it online. So with this product purchase, I added in another item to make it a bit better.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal. This highlighter product was the one item that was hard to track down and lead to this online purchase in the first place. I had been hearing a lot about this product online lately and I knew that I wanted a highlighter that was a little less subtle than my favourite Laura Mercier one. I decided to get this product in the Opal shade because it is a golden opal pearl creamy powder luminizer that absorbs and reflects light for a superb natural glow. I have really been on this whole highlighter kick lately. I am excited to experiment with this one and definitely will be welcoming it into the warmer seasons.

Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain in 01 Always Red. I mentioned in my last haul that I had picked up this product and it wasn’t until I got home that I realized i had bought the 03 Strawberry Kissed shade, which looks very similar but has a slightly more overall pink colour to it. I knew I wanted the red, but I was impressed enough with the pink one to want to own both of them. These are very long lasting cream lipsticks that will stay on your lips. Even is some does start to come off while eating, you would not be able to tell from looking at your lips because they will still look untouched. I am glad that I finally gave these products a try and am happy to have two shades now in my collection!

Ciaté Kiss Play Stay. This was an item that I forgot I had bought during the in store purchase. I had never heard about this product but read that it was an easy-to-apply clear lipstick to seal in lip color and form an invisible protective shield and was instantly intrigued. Anything to help keep my lipstick in place throughout the day is definitely worth the try. I tested out this product once over a NARS lipstick that I knew would come off on a tissue easily, but applying this “top coat” felt like applying an acid nail polish on top of my lipstick. The smell was strong, the tingle (read: burning feeling) was definitely there, and I didn’t quite let the product dry as I wanted to remove it right away. I did a quick kiss the tissue test and only the outline of my lipstick came off, and eventually more followed. I am tempted enough to give this product a second try, now that I know to expect quite the smell and initial burn, but I’m really not sure at this point or if this product is destined to be returned to Sephora.
