Haul: Valentine’s Long Weekend

During this Valentine’s/Family Day long weekend I managed to finally make it out of my house and to my closest Sephora after spending too much time browsing the Sephora website over the past week. A year ago I splurged at the Sephora during a weekend getaway in Ottawa, and this week I split my splurging between an in-store and online purchase which will be discussed in a later blog post after it arrives.

Too Faced Soul Mates Blushing Bronzer in Ross & Rachel. If you are going to name a product after one of my favourite television couples of all time, you better believe that I will make it my mission to make this product mine. I did notice that this blush-bronzer product did seem a bit warm-toned in comparison to the bronzing products I usually lean towards purchasing, so I waited a couple days before giving in to this purchase. The other version of this product, also cleverly named Carrie & Big, did come in a slightly slighter bronzer, but I am not that big of a fan of coral blushes. I tested the product on the back of my hand and decided to buy the product. I am hoping to be more tanned as the summer approaches, so it will add a nice healthy warmth to my face. Until then, I will apply with a light handed application.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. I had been hearing good things about this concealer so far, and although I have my favourites, I still wanted to give this one a chance. I got this concealer in the lightest shade, which is known as Fair Neutral, which may be actually a little bit too light for my skin tone – shocking! This point aside, I intend to use this concealer mostly as an under eye concealer to see how much brighter I can make my face appear. So far I have been impressed with the coverage and wear of this product and do not regret this purchase at all. In the warmer months I may consider purchasing one that matches my regular skin tone.

Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain in 03 Strawberry Kissed. I have heard the hype around these long wearing, food proof, matte liquid lipstick wonders for a while now and finally decided to give them a try. I picked up what I thought had been the 01 Always Red shade, because it was behind the red lip product, but once I got home I realized it had a pink tone to it and decided to still see how it is because I have heard great things about both of these shades. The very pigmented bright pinky red matte version of the lip product that I picked up applied like a dream and dried quickly, but did not dry out my lips. The product did not come off on my drink straws much at all, and only a little came off throughout an extensive dinner, but it all still appeared to stay in place on my lips. I may have added the red shade to my online order… just because I was that impressed with it. Good job Sephora!

Yes you can see a David’s Tea cold drink cup in the photo, and in case anyone was wondering I got myself and my sister iced Yogi Berry teas and it was the best tasting tea with ginger in it that I have ever tried. Definitely a good one for the warmer months that I will probably purchase a tin of in the next couple months.
