I’m back with a few more sample product reviews. For those that didn’t catch the first one, these posts are to push me to try more of the sample products I’ve collected over time and to give my opinion on them from the samples.
Dr. Jart Pore Medic Pore Minish Primer. This product was unknown to me when I first received the sample package, but after falling in love with the Dr. Jart BB cream I definitely wanted to give more products from the range a try. I ripped open this package of primer and it applied like a dream to my skin. It went on super smooth and created an even surface to apply make-up. I suppose this could be compared to any of the pore minimizing primers that are already really well known (Benefit’s Porefessional, Smashbox’s newest primer, etc), but for some reason I like this one the best out of all of them because it is a clear product and though always win me over in the end when it comes to primers. I have already obtained the deluxe sample version of this product since, and will likely invest in the full size product when I am running low on primers, which may not be anytime soon to be honest (which you can read more about in this blog post).
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Fearless. One of my first Sephora blush purchases was one of the Tarte blushes from this range, but I had never tried any of the other shades other than Dollface – until now. I got a sample of the shade Fearless and was prepared to test it out to see how a coral pink shade of blush would look on me. This is a shade that doesn’t always come as everyone’s cup of tea, but I really didn’t mind it. Mind you, I did have to go fairly light-handed with the application, but it added a nice pink glow to my cheeks, which helped me look a little less pale in the face. I’m not completely sold on purchasing the full size version of this shade, but I definitely love this product range and may purchase another shade from it in the future.
Maison Martin Margiela ‘Replica’ Beach Walk Perfume. I can not begin to tell you how excited I was to finally get my hands on a sample of this perfume after hearing so many great things about it. I was definitely loving the whole beach inspired scent idea of this perfume, but when I went to smell the fragance, my nsoe did not agree with it. This scent is a mixture of bergamot, pink pepper, lemon, ylang ylang, coconut milk, musk, and cedar wood. When I heard people start talking about it they said it smelt like a beach without the sunscreen smell, and that is definitely not what my nose picked up. It was much too floral of a scent, and got very strong very quickly. Let’s jsut say that I am very glad I did not drop all the money to purchase the full sized version of this. I may wait around until summer to smell the Bobbi Brown one again that made the sunscreen scent smell a lot better in comparison.
