I know I just did a whole haul post, but that was all beauty related products, while this time around I am doing a post that is only dedicated to LUSH products. I have not bought any products from the brand since technically the end of last year, which is pretty good restraint if you ask me. There is a reason for this and that reason is because I have been waiting several months for a LUSH store to open up in Hamilton and now it is officially open for business! I made it in on the second day to grab a few new products to test and tried to curb my usual “feeling spendy” habits. In my defence, I have been really good with the spending throughout March and am quite proud of myself for that. I ended up purchasing three products, and now I am going to tell you all about them.
Most importantly, I have had my eyes on a certain shower gel ever since my last stampede through a LUSH store, but this time I was successful in finally making it mine. The Olive Branch Shower Gel is a “Mandarin shower gel with skin-softening olive oil” according to the website and I will agree with that statement. The smell is a unique one, with the combination of mandarin, lemon, and bergamot oil scents. I could see this scent being liked by both women and men because it is not overpowering in a normal Axe or fruity and flirty way as a Victoria Secret or similar product. Despite having olive oil in the formula, it lathers up really nicely still and is my current favourite shower gel after a single use.
Massage bars are a tricky thing. I never saw the appeal in massage bars before when my sister used to buy them, but for some reason while I was in the store I was determined to find one that I liked and ended up with two. I picked up an obvious choice, the Percup Massage Bar, a cocoa butter massage bar which melts the moment it makes contact with your skin to help hydrate and nourish, while the whole coffee beans within the bar somehow work to help ease sore muscles. I thought the coffee beans were actually just for added scent, but I cannot argue with easing sore muscles.
The second massage bar is quite the spectacular sight though and has to be saved to be used closer to the summer. The Shimmy Shimmy Massage Bar is a vanilla and lavender scented, heart-shaped massage bar that is covered in glitter. Touching it is a complete mistake you want to avoid in the store if you wanted to avoid getting glitter stuck all over your fingers, just like the gold egg bath bomb if you have dealt with that one before. This bar is full of skin softening butters that help the glitter stick for a very subtle shimmer, giving your skin a pinky-bronze glow. Now you will understand why I said I will save this one for the summer, or a night out in the spring, because I do not want to walk around like a sparkling person for any other reason than to sparkle at the beach or other similar occasions.
That’s all I bought during this trip to LUSH, but I am sure you will be seeing their products mentioned more frequently now because of the easier access to them now. Are there any products that you love that I should check out? Let me know in the comments!
