The “It’s Finally Spring” Beauty Haul

Spring Haul

It is time for a brand new haul of beauty products that I definitely think are worth talking about. This is a blend of drugstore and Sephora products that I have purchased in the last few weeks that I have been loving. I have really held back with my spending habits for the past month, but it came to the point where I felt it was necessary to buy certain products. Most of these were purchased because of the transition into the spring season, so that is why this is called the “It’s Finally Spring” beauty haul. I thought I would use the new issue of Porter magazine featuring the beautiful Karlie Kloss because it made me want to skip spring and jump right into summer.

We all know how much I love the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel nail polishes and top coat if you have read my product review post about them here. It was about time I started expanding that colour range in my own collection so I have picked up two brand new colours that I am absolutely obsessed with. The two newest shades in my collection are 370 Sugar Fix and 360 Tidal Wave. Yes, I am all about those blues. Blue is one of my favourite colours to wear on my nails and with these two shades I have covered the bright cobalt blue and the very pastel blue. I have similar shades for both from other brands, mostly the Essie brand of nail polishes, but with the magical top coat from this range I needed them for obvious reasons. The brighter blue I think is my current favourite just because of how bold it is and can work to help brighten up an outfit, even if it is just on the nails.

When I realized that my favourite BB cream was running low, I know I needed to make my way back to Sephora to purchase a replacement for when it did run out. But, when you walk into Sephora that is not always how the story unfolds. I have had my mind on seeking out a new foundation lately (I still love my Tarte foundation, no love lost there) and looked to some expert advice on what works best for my skin tone. I have already stuck this in my March favourites blog post here, but the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H has only been in my life for almost two weeks and I love it to pieces. The velvety matte medium to full coverage finish is exactly what I love and the colour match is so perfect that I could not even see where the Sephora sales associate watched it on my skin. I never saw myself buying a Lancôme foundation, but I am so glad that my eyes have been opened to the wonderfulness that this foundation has brought to my face.

I have discovered a new hair product that I have stuck into my normal hair styling routine. The Dove Oxygen Moisture Root Lift Spray has come in handy when my hair has been looking really flat and needed that extra help to make it look a little bit more voluminous. All you have to do for this product tow work is to spray it relatively close to your roots when your hair is dry and it will work to add body and fullness to the hair where it is usually weighed down the most. So far I haven’t noticed a super dramatic difference, but enough to keep using this product. I also have really knotty bits in my hair after showering usually, so this added moisture helps to detangle while I comb through it.

In last month’s empties post (here) I mentioned that I finally ran out of my Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant and had already repurchased another to replace it. I did in fact buy another deodorant from the line, but since the original scent I bought was just a limited release scent from the summer time I had to pick something else. I usually do not like scents to be over powerful so I opted for the classic up vanilla scent which would be the most basic of all the vanilla-based scents in the deodorant range. If you were not aware already, this is an aluminum free deodorant range and I would highly recommend it if you are looking for something a little bit more on the safe side as far as deodorant brands.

Ever since I got the chance to test out the OZ Natural eye gel, I was very interested in trying out something else from the product change. I ended up ordering the OZ Naturals Ocean Mineral Tonic. This is a facial toner in a spray bottle, which just happens to be my favourite way for a toner to come in. This product is full of great ingredients that work together to aid against sun demander, fine lines, and uneven skin tone. I have a few different facial toners on rotation at the moment, but I have worked this one into the mix to see what magic is can create.
