When I first heard that YSL had come out with a oil based lip tint, which I will just refer to as a “lip oil”. The Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Tint-In-Oil was something I never though I would buy into, but after one swipe on my lips I can officially declare that I am in love with this product.
I thought I would pick it up and give it a shot after hearing some amazing reviews, and decided to buy the pink/fuchsia shade called Pink About Me. I was expecting a very oily feeling on my lips after applying it, but I was completely wrong. This product it basically a lip tint, but the tint is suspended in a layer of deep conditioning oil that will leave your lips feeling very moisturized for quite some time. When you apply it, it does seem very lip gloss-like. I am personally not a fan of lip gloss products, but this is likely my one exception. Although not quite called a lip gloss, this non-sticky lip oil product eventually becomes less glossy and leaves a very natural looking tint to your lips.
The range currently has 8 different shades, covering your pinks, more orange-like tones, and the more neutral clear shades. They are very light in pigment payoff, but I think it is the perfect amount to really not care about how it looks for the rest of the day. I definitely feel more confident wearing this than I would with a regular neutral lipstick that could possibly have more issues while wearing. Besides my trusted summertime lip balm, the YSL Volupté Tint-In-Oil is one of the only lip products I have been carrying around with me for over a week now. Before I get to mention the packaging of this product range, it is gorgeous and definitely matches the slightly expensive price of these lip products.
What are your thoughts on this new lip oil revolution? Would you ever pick one up for yourself? Let me know in the comments below. I am tempted to get another one for myself, which may possibly be the Drive Me Copper shade.
