I can admit to hoarding makeup products, but I was never one to really hoard makeup brushes. I had a good set to do what needed to be done and was content with that. I recently expanded my brush collection to include two new products from Real Techniques and a set from EcoTools and have been extremely happy having the additional brushes to use when needed. Nothing against my lovely rose gold Zoeva brush set that I have had for a good amount of time now, I have used the living daylights out of them.
I have always heard so many great things about the Real Techniques brand of makeup brushes, especially their price point, but was never on the bandwagon of using their products… until now. Originally, this was only because I had found them hard to find (clearly I did not look hard enough) and I thought I was fine with the few brushes that I already had. They are a good quality brand and the brushes have a much lower price point than other highly talked about brushes. The first of my new additions is the Real Techniques Blush Brush, a plush 100% cruelty-free synthetic bristled makeup brush, which helps you to contour and define cheeks for flawlessly blended and high-definition results. This would be the pink handled brush pictures right front and center in the photo. I have been loving using this makeup brush since I got it and have not touched any other blush-like brush that I own.
The second item is not quite a brush, but a sponge. The Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge is that orange coloured wonder tool that helps you evenly blend your makeup for a smooth and flawless finish. It works in the same way a beauty blender would, letting you use its rounded sides to blend large areas of the face with a repeated dabbing or “stippling” motion. It has a pointed tip, just like its more expensive counterpart, allowing you to use its precision tip to cover blemishes and imperfections. This sponge is one step ahead of the beauty blender, as it also has a flat edge for the contours around the eyes and nose that may be harder to get with a rounded surface. I am really happy with these two new products and already have my eye on the Bold Metals brushes from the same brand because they look beautiful. Want this sponge for yourself (or the blush brush previously mentioned)? They are really easy to find at stores such as Pharmasave, Rexall, Pharma Plus, Jean Coutu, London Drugs, and other select locations.
My first introduction to the brand EcoTools comes as a delight. This brand is a leading line of eco-conscious cosmetic and bath accessories that have been made using sustainable resources that minimize the negative impact on the environment. The makeup brush set that I have added to my collection is the EcoTools Six Piece Day to Night Brush Set, pictured to the left in the photo. The entire range of naturally chic products features bamboo handles, which is always a pleasing aesthetic to my eye. This set includes a pointed concealer brush, a round powder brush, a detailed lip liner brush, a stay-there shadow brush, a smudge brush. All of these brushes come in a very compact zippered clutch that really makes it easy to travel around with this set. I really like the variety of brushes that were included, because they are very likely to be the brushes that I would reach for if I had to touch up on my makeup from daytime to a night out. The clutch just makes it super easy to take them with you to make for the easiest touch-up possible. I am excited to finally have a nice detailed lip liner brush in my collection now as well, making possibly messy lipstick application much easier. Whether you need to take this on the go with you or not, these brushes are all still crucial brushes to have in your collection, and the eco-friendly aspect of this brand is the cherry on top. You can find this set and other EcoTools brushes in locations such as Walmart, Rexall, Pharmasave, Lawtons Drugs, and more.
Do you have that one particular makeup brush that you could not live without? Let me know in the comments below! Some of my other brushes are getting kind of old and may need replacing soon, so I am always open to suggestions!
