November Purchases (Part 1)

It’s haulin’ time! With the next Sephora VIB Rouge event less than 24 hours away, I thought I would quickly talk about a few items that I happened to purchase the day before I knew the event was happening. Timing and myself don’t always get along that well and this is a perfect example of how I could have waited an extra day to find out I could have purchased all these items with a 20% off discount. Anyways, let’s take a look at what I ordered myself.

First and most importantly, my holy grail of a BB cream finally came back in stock on the Sephora website! You can all bet I did a happy dance when I saw that the Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox BB Beauty Balm was finally back in stock after quite a while of being unavailable. I was extremely worried that it was going to become discontinued or that Sephora was going to stop carrying it all together, so you can see how I was much relieved to be able to purchase this item again. It has become impossible to get this item in Sephora stores near me, so online was my only method of obtaining this beauty balm. I’ve gone on about this lighter version of a foundation several times before, but as a quick recap: this is a BB cream that is a very lightweight formula that works to cover face demons and evens out your skin tone with a decent amount of coverage. I may favour this product over the others on the market because of the amount of coverage it gives, but I just genuinely love this product. This was the product that finally got me to step away from always using full coverage foundations and I am very happy about it still.

Speaking about products I love, I am nearing the end of my Urban Decay highly praised concealer, but it was out of stock in my shade when I went to purchase it in stores and online, so I went back to an old classic, the NARS Creamy Concealer in the shade Vanilla. I really liked the consistency of this concealer and how amazing it is at covering all those spots that need covering. I also use this under my eyes to cover dark circles and to brighten things up a bit, but I just found it to bit a bit heavier than the Urban Decay product. At least this is one of my favourite concealers that I have back in my life. I have a lot of earlier mornings now, so this concealer may help me hide those baggy eyes even more. Also to note, my shade in the Urban Decay concealer became available again the day after I placed my order.

While I was already buying one product from the Dr. Jart+ product range, I went ahead and took a chance on another product. I decided to get the Dr. Jart+ PORE MEDIC Pore Minish Mist, which is a mattifying and oil controlling two-in-one skin mist with powder and toner. Does it sound like a product could get any better than that? Not likely, so that’s why I finally took it off my “want” list and made it something I would own. I am always looking for ways to stay matte and control my oil levels on my face. I am a fan of skin mists, and although I do fancy the Urban Decay De-slick setting spray, I thought I would give a new spray a chance to impress me. This is a powder and toner in one product, so I will report back on this one with how I get along with it.

Lastly, and not really a purchase, I added a deluxe sample of the Fresh Rose Face Mask to my basket. I have only ever tried a few products from the Fresh brand before and have had good experiences with them. Any chance to try out a new and promising product with some of my points is always a good deal in my mind. This is a hydrating and toning gel mask that has been infused with real rose petals, pure rosewater, and other ingredients to provide the perfect amount of moisture to your face. I have tried this out already once on my face and was loving the rose scent to it. I liked the gel consistency of the product and it was easy to apply and wash off after 5-10 minutes. The full-size product is a bit pricey, so I’m going to draw this sample pot out as much as possible to see how my skin reacts by the time I use it all up.

That’s it for my first round of November purchases! I will likely be adding a part two to this November haul in hardly no time at all, so keep an eye out for another haul in the very near future.
