Starting off September with a bang!
Well, well, well. Look who finally showed up to the party. Yes, I am talking about myself and my absence from blogging over the past month. August was a really big month for me. I went on a once-in-a-lifetime vacation that took a lot of energy out of me before the travelling even began. You can look at some of the photos from the vacation over on my Instagram page if you desire. Excuses aside, I have many things to share that I picked up throughout August and the beginning of September! I thought I would kick things off by sharing products that I picked up this morning at the Sephora VIB Rouge event. This post is very fresh! There have been a few things that I have been hearing about in the world of cosmetics and they definitely peaked my interest. I did place a Sephora order once I returned from my vacation for a new shampoo and conditioner, but that will be for another blog post.
A new foundation and concealer duo.
The most exciting products I purchased today were the Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Foundation and Studio Skin 24 Hour Waterproof Concealer. There is so much hype around this foundation and concealer, I had to see it for myself. I did have a Sephora associate talk me through the products and find my shade in both very easily. Thankfully I went in without makeup, so that made swatching that much easier for her. I can’t wait to give these products a go and really test them out. Let’s hope they live up to all the hype.
Pamper with a scrub.
Another product I’m excited to own is the tarte Lip Facial Lip Scrub. I already own the fresh lip scrub already and think it works wonderfully. Unfortunately, I do not use it near enough as I should be. I pass on using it because I don’t like sticking my finger in the container to get out the product. This tarte product is completely genius because it is all in a twist-up crayon format. This makes for the most convenient and easy-to-use application possible! I have already used this once I got home and it really did the job! My lips definitely needed some pampering. This is also travel and handbag friendly – really making me wish I had this on my vacation.
Masks on masks on masks.
I’m on a bit of a mask spree at the moment after some quality airplane time. My skin needs some pampering to I picked up two masks at the VIB Rouge event to do the job. The Dr. Jart+ Pore Minimalist Black Charcoal Sheet Mask is for detoxification and the pore-tightening benefits. The Origins Clear Improvement™ Active Charcoal Mask To Clear Pores falls along the same line as it works to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers. Basically, I need to clear out my pores. I have other products to restore hydration to my skin, but I needed help in the pore area.
Odds and ends from the VIB Rouge event.
I did pick up many more products, but I put many back on their shelves by the end. Two products that stayed in the bag made it home with me. I bought a backup of the beautyblender blendercleanser® solid because my current solid cleaner is nearing its end and I really think it does an amazing job at cleaning my beautyblender. Lastly, a walk past the nail polish stand landed me with a very long-titled new shade for my collection. I picked up the Formula X #ColorCurators: Atlantic-Pacific Edition in Atlantic Mist. This shade is described as a misty sage and I think is a lovely addition to my collection of very similar colours, but this one is slightly different and more muted than the rest of my minty-green-blue shades.
Did you stop by the VIB Rouge event or just a Sephora in general? Let me know what you picked up!
