The Highlight Compact & Palette (The Current Series)

Have you ever wanted to know what specific product a person gravitates towards on a more daily basis? A lot of people like to keep posting about all the new products that come out, but how long does that craze actually last? Beauty fanatics tend to stick to what works best. I am here to try to keep a regular update on my favourite products that I reach for. To start off The Current series, I will dive into the world of the ever-so-popular highlight.

My standard highlight.

On a day-to-day basis, I will reach for my main highlighting product, the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder Compact. I own this compact in the shade Highlight 01, which is a smooth face powder that provides a golden nude soft radiance. It is very subtle, but still definitely adds a glow wherever you want to highlight certain features. Above your cheekbones, inner corner of your eyes, cupid’s bow, beneath your brows… anywhere you want!

The quad palette.

When I want to drift away from my usual product, I grab the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit. There are a few variations of these glow kits, but I own the palette in Gleam, bought for more of its pinky tones. This quad gives a great variation of shades for different skin tones and uses. My fair skin works best with the lighter highlights, so I usually use the shade Crushed Pearl as my highlight. I will use the other shades from time to time when I really want to play up the highlight. I really wish this palette had a mirror on the inside, but that is my only downfall with this palette. It seems that the palette I have may have only been a limited release, but there will always be some variation available.
