You may or may not know about the crazy around The Ordinary right now. The Toronto-based company is taking over the world at the moment. Stores are opening, and the shelves are being emptied within hours. The Abnormal Beauty Company (also known as DECIEM) is the umbrella brand carrying several brands, including The Ordinary. The products are supposed to do great wonders for your skin at a very reasonable price point. I have known about this brand for quite some time but never ventured forward into the discovery and testing phase. The time has come to finally start testing out some of these hyped up products! DECIEM has sent over the products I am going to discuss, providing me with the products I believe I need to help my skin sort itself out.
The Toner from The Ordinary
If I am going to compare this toner to anything on the market today, I will compare it to Pixi’s Glow Tonic. Now, I will say that I am a big fan of toners that go on with a spray application. I will set those aside to give a hyped up toner a try though. The Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution is really good for exfoliation to improve your skin’s radiance and the appearance of skin texture with continued use. I am very keen on keeping up with use of this toning solution for the texture part because this girl definitely has some skin texture issues. Glycolic acid is really good for helping with uneven texture, just in case you didn’t already know. This product is advised to only use once a day, preferably in the night time routine, so I still use my other gentle toner in the morning time.
Adding Another Oil to my Collection
Years ago, I was using a moisturizer with rose hip seed oil in it and my skin cleared up a lot. Unfortunately, I did not continue using that product due to the steep price point. I now have the 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil in my night time skin routine to see if the benefits of the rose hip seed oil will help clear up my skin more. My skin has been fairly stable the last few days, so I’ll continue to use this oil. I hope my skin only gets better and better!
For the Problem Spots
It’s no secret that I have issues with acne or blemishes popping up whenever they want. I am trying out the Salicylic Acid 2% Solution in hopes to prevent these breakouts from happening. This solution also contains witch hazel, which I know is supposed to work really effectively for this purpose. I have only used this one a few times so far. I have applied it as both a spot treatment and a light all-over face application.
Caffeine for Your Face
Did I mention I love caffeine? It is no surprise that I would pick up the Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG for the caffeine benefits for my skin. This solution works to reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles under the eyes. I definitely have a problem with discolouration under my eyes, so this product was a no-brainer! It is helping me battle that issue one day at a time. I have been trying to go makeup-free more often these days. Looking like a got a restful night’s sleep is always a good plus.
Have you tried anything from The Ordinary or any other DECIEM brand? Let me know in the comments below. I am always keen to trying out new amazing products!
